Handcrafted prints
November 2022
Linocut is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut, easier to carve and to obtain some different artistics effects. I started linocutting because I wanted to work more with my hands, to feel textures and reliefs through my fingers. I also needed to return to more tangible and concrete creations. It’s a really interesting and satisfying process, the engraving, finding the best paper, choosing the best ink, printing tests and discovering first results. These prints are made from mulberry paper - with a lot of textures - and iridescent gold ink. For my next projects I’d like to make my own recycled paper and maybe in the future, make my own ink with homemade pigments.
